Why Is My Instagram Explore Page Full Of Models?

The Explore page of Instagram exists so that we can find new and exciting new posts about things we actually LIKE, and is a really good way for the user to engage with the content on the platform.

But what if you suddenly find your Explore page filled to the brim with pictures of models?

No matter where you swipe, you get an endless set of posts from various Instagram models, and let’s accept the fact that this can lead to a whole set of other problems, especially with people around you who might get the wrong impression.

But the thing is, Instagram recommends these posts based on YOUR OWN behavior!

And this can be intentional or not, but you have definitely engaged with posts of this genre earlier with or without your knowledge.

If you currently face this issue and want this to go away IMMEDIATELY, this post will help. Plus, it covers all the reasons why your Instagram explore page is full of models.

Why Is My Instagram Search Page Full Of Models?

Here are the main 3 reasons why your instagram explore page is full of models:

1. You Have Interacted With Similar Posts In The Past

The main reason why your Explore page is filled with images of models is that you have interacted with posts of this kind in the past.

You need to know that the Instagram algorithm will closely observe the posts you like and comment on, and then recommend similar posts to you.

So if you find your Explore page filled with posts of models, you have either followed such content creators or clicked on, liked or commented on such posts for some time.

What happens then is Instagram automatically assumes that you are fond of such genres and will recommend more and more of its kind for you, to keep you engaged with the platform.

2. You Have Used Similar Hashtags

This can be something you do without your knowledge. When you are posting stuff on Insta, you might have the habit of adding hashtags to the end of your captions to increase engagement with your followers.

Sometimes, these very hashtags can end up being similar to the ones used by the models in their OWN posts.

This can lead to such posts with similar hashtags like yours being recommended to you on the Explore page.

And after a while, you will find tons of models on your Explore page, even when you haven’t actually engaged with ANY of their posts in the first place!

3. Interacted With Other Related Content

Instagram doesn’t just look at the regular posts you are interacting with. It also looks into the accounts you follow, stories and REELS you are clicking on, liking and commenting on.

This also gives additional input to the algorithm, and you will find your explore page flooded yet AGAIN with models if you have been interacting with their stories and posts.

Plus, if you are on Facebook (which owns Instagram) and engaged with any “model” content there, your data is shared with Instagram.

How To Stop Seeing Models On Instagram Explore

Now that you know what triggered the algo to show endless content from models on your search page, here you to get rid of them:

Limit Model Posts From Appearing In Your Feed

This is pretty simple – but you might have to do this a couple of times to make it all go away.

What you can do is, once you see such posts on your Explore page just click on the post and click the three dots on the top right corner of the post.

Here you will have the option ‘show fewer’. You can click this option and you will automatically get fewer posts of that nature.

Afterwards, you will get three other options, the first of which is ‘Don’t suggest posts with certain words’. Click this, you can add all the possible hashtags and keywords that are recommending these posts to you in the first place.

There are also other options like ‘manage suggested content’ where you can go ahead and fine-tune the recommendations to your liking.

Reset Your Explore Page Entirely

This method will most definitely readjust the Explore page, and take away WHATEVER Instagram uses to recommend posts to you.

Simply go to your profile and click on the menu at the top right corner. Then go to settings and click on ‘Your Activity’.

Once you get there, click ‘Recent Searches’ and this will take you to a separate page where you will find ALL your recent searches on the app, and the option ‘clear all’ in blue on the top right corner.

Click on the option and you will be able to delete everything you have searched on the app so far.

Bottom Line

Finding your Explore page full of models all of a sudden can be a weird experience, especially if you haven’t intentionally searched for or interacted with anything of the sort on the platform.

So what you can do is manually change your setting from the post itself, or go to your profile and remove your search history from there.

Either way, you will get a different set of recommendations this time, and your issue will get sorted out.
