How To Make $500 A Day Sending Emails (A Marketer’s Guide)

Email marketing is one of the best ways to make money on the internet, and it’s super straightforward too!

If you have a blog, a proper online following, or even if you’re just starting things out on social media, making money by sending emails is a very common move many people make.

And while it takes time to find a loyal following, if you put in the work you will end up making a substantial amount pretty easily.

In this post, I’ll show you how to make over $500 a day sending emails in 3 steps – building an email list, nurturing it and monetizing it.

I’ll also breakdown the math on how many subscribers you’ll need to make $500 a day.

Can You Make $500 A Day Sending Emails?

$500 a day means $150k a month which equals to 1.8 million a year. That’s a huge amount of money. But is it too unrealistic?

To be honest, for most people – it might be. But not for everyone.

There are lots of people making over 2M with newsletters. In fact, here’s how Dan makes over 7.8 Million a year with a newsletter.

You can make $500 a day sending emails if you are prepared to put in the work.

1. Build Email List

The first thing you need to do is to build an email list. But before all that, you need to find a niche.

If you are first starting out, pick a niche you are passionate about and you are knowledgeable in. That’ll make it so much easier.

When you’re building an email list, these are going to be your priorities:

  • The QUALITY of the subscribers
  • The NUMBER of subscribers
  • How RELEVANT these subscribers are to the service you plan on selling.

To collect emails, you can add an opt-in form on your website. That’s the easiest way.

You can also get people to join your email lists by having sign-up options on your social media pages. This way you will find people who are INTERESTED in your services to begin with.

Post valuable info on Twitter, Linkedin and maybe even Facebook. People will start signing up. But it won’t happen overnight and will take time.

Here’s good video on how Justin made his $1.7M a year email list:

You can also collect the emails of people at events and public campaigns and then add them to your email lists as well.

And at the same time, make sure the emails you are adding to the list of people who are ACTUALLY interested in your services, otherwise, they will start REMOVING themselves from the email list!

Don’t Buy Email Databases

One thing you should NEVER do is buy email lists because the quality there will be VERY low.

Buying email lists will mean you’re buying a lot of scraped and useless emails 99% of the time. These people are not interested in your niche and they definitely won’t convert.

Plus, you’ll be sending out spam as well, and that’s a problem.

So try to build up your own email lists.

2. Nurture The Email List

Creating an email list is NOT enough, you must also nurture it.

Having an email list is like having a bunch of new friends that you need to QUICKLY connect with – and you MUST do it properly as well.

The ultimate goal is to make them trust you and think of you as an expert in the niche.

Because if they don’t trust you, they are not going to buy from you.

So, before you start advertising anything, send super valuable emails that will either solve their problems, help them get better or share your best tips.

Keep this up for about a couple months. And then start monetizing

You can send them emails once every week or two weeks so that they don’t forget about you.

Don’t overdo it though, because that might be annoying. A nice balance is what’s needed in this.

Also try to group your emails into demographics, and make customized emails to all of those groups, because that personal touch is REALLY important!

3. Monetizing The Email List

Now it’s time to make money with your list!

Here are the best ways to get to $500 a day sending emails:

Affiliate Marketing

The most common way of making money using your list is doing affiliate marketing.

Basically, you will be selling OTHER people’s products and services – when your subscribers make a purchase from the links you have emailed, you will get a part of the cut.

This is highly successful if done correctly. But it’s not the most lucrative.

There are plenty of programs which you can join as an affiliate marketer, and it’s a pretty SIMPLE journey of marketing their products after that.

Sponsored Ads

You can also add SPONSORED ads to your newsletter as well. However, you will need a bigger list to convince and get sponsors.

For adding these sponsored ads to your newsletter, these service providers will pay you good money because they’re ALWAYS looking for places other than social media to sell their products.

This way, you can make a lot of money if you do it right.

Selling Your Own Products Or Services

The best way to make money through an email list is to SELL YOUR OWN products, because you will get the full profit with no one in the middle.

You can make WAY more than just $500 a day if you have a good product and decent sized list.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Ebooks
  • Courses
  • 1 on 1 Coaching
  • Templates
  • Software
  • Group Memberships

You can also send nice little discounts which can increase conversion rates because that will make them feel EXTRA special.

Making $500 A Day Sending Emails

Now that we have an idea on how to make money sending emails, let’s do the math on how to make $500 a day.

Remember, we are only going to send 1 or 2 emails a week. Just for the example, let’s say we are sending out an email every 3 days. So we need to make $1500 with every email.

You can make that with 150 x $10 sales, or 50 x $30 sales, or 15 x $100 sales.

The average email conversion rate is about 1.4% so to make 150 sales, you need about exactly 10715 subscribers.

Plus, If you add in sponsorships, you can get about $250/email for an audience of 10K subscribers.

Seems easy ha? No

Not all these people will buy again in the next email. So you need to take that into account too.

My advice is to sell something like a monthly subscription product or service so that the customer lifetime value is very big. A good example is productized services and software subscriptions.
